What is a Service Fraternity?
Service Fraternity is a type of organization whose primary purpose is community service. Members of KKPsi are not restricted from joining other types of fraternities. Our primary community service is serving the band, helping with equipments and field lining, as well as loading buses for events.
Letter From President: (Updated 11/12/2023)
The Theta Beta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi has been my home for the past nearly three years, and I feel honored to lead our chapter this year as President.
Our chapter was honored to receive the 2022-23 Northeast District A. Frank Martin Top Chapter Award this past year, along with our own James Kang winning Top Sponsor. Both awards are a product of our chapter’s commitment to the four pillars of Kappa Kappa Psi: Brotherhood, Service, Leadership, and Musicianship. We have made our presence known with our District honors and a hefty presence at the 2023 National Convention, and we are here to stay. I am immensely proud of Theta Beta for these achievements, but even more so, the character of each of our Brothers and their dedication to serving BU Bands with enthusiasm and excellence.
Additionally, this year is a special one for Theta Beta, as this April we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary of being at Boston University and aiding its band program. With 295 total brothers being initiated into our chapter at the time I am writing this, I am so excited to be welcoming so many members of our alumni community back to campus to celebrate this momentous occasion for our chapter. From 1984 to 2024, Theta Beta has both made its mark on BU Bands and on each of us Brothers, which I am ecstatic to celebrate.
Lastly, as the resident Old Person in the Active Chapter, I believe that Theta Beta has a bright future. In joining as a freshman during the Spring of 2021, I saw our chapter endure the tumultuous times of the early COVID-19 pandemic and flourish despite difficulty. I am immensely grateful for this chapter’s history of ambition, dedication, and passion that got us through the pandemic, and for the current chapter’s capability to carry these forward to new heights.
It has been an honor to serve these Brothers as President, and I am confident that Theta Beta will continue to strive for the highest. I could not be more proud of Theta Beta, and cannot wait to see what the future has in store.

We help our athletic bands with loading buses & trucks, field lining, and more!!! We also help concert and Jazz ensembles sign out instruments and lockers!!
Music
All of the members in KKPsi are also band members in athletic bands at BU, that could be either Marching Band, Pep Band, Winter Guard, or Winter Drumline.
